Newpark School Sports Centre was opened in 1973 and has been available for public use since then. The building is owned by the Department of Education and is a dual use facility operating as a school physical education facility and family Fitness and Leisure Centre.

Q Mark for Leisure Centres
Newpark Sports Centre are members of EIQA (Excellence Ireland Quality Association). The Q Mark for Leisure standard provides a comprehensive/integrated approach to audit the quality management systems and operational hygiene standards of Leisure Centres. The key elements of this award are based on management commitment, development and communication of the centre's policies, business planning, organisation and our customer focus.
Ireland Active National Standard Fitness White Flag
We have been part of the White Flag Excellence Awards for over 15 years. White Flag Excellence Award is based on the three key requirements pillars for the operation of a Leisure Centre, Swimming Pool or Spa Facility of- Safety, Hygiene & Maintenance and Customer Care. The Award is designed to encourage continuous improvement, and has three levels - White Flag Excellence Bronze Standard, White Flag Excellence Silver Standard and White Flag Excellence Gold Standard.
